Halltech's Cold-Core™ philosophy is to keep the intake air as cold as possible, for as long as possible. Cold air isn't just the name of the product. It's the objective.

This Cold-Core™ Beehive™ Heat Shield is designed to fit in front of the radiator in your C6 Corvette engine compartment and provide a thermal barrier between the intake filter and the hot air and radiant heat of the engine compartment.

Unlike our intake-specific Beehive™ heat shields, this version is supplied without a pre-cut intake opening, allowing it to be customized for virtually any C6 cold-air intake system. We do all of the cutting and forming required to match the vehicle, so the customer only needs to make the final custom cut around their particular intake.

The Beehive™ creates a physical barrier between the intake filter and the hot engine compartment, helping prevent the intake from drawing heated underhood air.

Halltech testing has shown gains of up to 15 horsepower on C6 Corvettes when using the Beehive™ Heat Shield with a Halltech cold-air intake system.

Simple, No-Cut Installation

The Beehive™ is designed for a straightforward pop-in installation with a black OEM-style finish. No cutting of the radiator shroud or other vehicle components is required.

The shield is already precision-cut and formed to fit the C6 Corvette. The only modification required is a custom opening in the shield to accommodate the specific intake system being used.

Once installed, the Beehive™ works with the existing radiator shroud to help seal the filter from the surrounding engine compartment.

Additional openings in the radiator shroud are not necessary. We specifically recommend leaving the shroud intact rather than cutting holes in an attempt to get more air to the filter. The Beehive™ is designed to control the air entering the intake system while keeping hot engine-compartment air away from the filter.
